Hyper Japan, the UK’s biggest celebration of Japanese culture, is bringing its Christmas markets back to Tower Hamlets’ Tobacco Dock from November 25th – 27th.

Returning for its sixth year as a Christmas market and its second stint at Tobacco Docks, Japanese culture enthusiasts will be able to enjoy a wide range of traditional Japanese art, music, food and culture.

Visitors can enjoy a much different Christmas experience from the more traditional and conventional European-style markets London has to offer. They will be able to indulge in authentic Japanese street food as well as exploring traditional Japanese crafts, artwork and kimonos.

An assortment of goods celebrating animé culture and kawaii clothing will be on display for animé lovers, and prolific manga artist duo Peach-Pit will be making a rare appearance at the event. There will also be chance to taste and vote for the Sake Cocktail Awards, for those who enjoy a good Japanese drink.

The event will also feature a Hyper Japan live stage where a variety of artists and special guests will be performing across the three days. Famous names to be performing include rising J-Pop group The Hoopers, heavy metal artist Fuki, and former Takarazuka Revue star Nao Masaoka.

This market, along with Hyper Japan’s annual Japanese festival that takes place in the summer, is the biggest Japanese-themed festive event in the UK.
More information and tickets can be found on the event’s official website.
