The celebrated Lewisham and Greenwich NHS choir featured in this year’s Christmas with the Stars at the Royal Albert Hall.

The group behind last year’s Christmas number one last night supported Bloodwise, the charity which funds research and offers support to anyone affected by leukaemia, lymphoma and other disorders arising from a blood cancer diagnosis.

An evening of carols, choirs and Christmas cheer, the festive concert on Tuesday raised awareness of blood cancer as the third biggest cancer killer in the United Kingdom, claiming more lives each year than breast or prostate cancer.

Katie Leason of Bloodwise said: “For many people Christmas With The Stars marks the true start of the festive season and it is always a heart-warming and joyous occasion.”

The show also played host to the 2014 winners of Britain’s Got Talent, Collabro, and stars of Strictly Come Dancing.
