Murder inquiry launched after Croydon shooting victim dies

Police have launched a murder investigation following a shooting on Saturday night in Croydon.

A 28-year-old man was shot outside the Higher Level Function Rooms, in Brigstock Parade, at about 5am on Sunday.

He died from his injuries in a south London hospital on Tuesday.

Police had been called following reports of a large fight at the venue, which had started in the venue and spilled out onto the street.

No one was seen to be injured at the scene, but police were later alerted by the hospital that a man had come to the casualty department for treatment.

No arrests have been made. A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Thursday.

Police are calling for anyone who was near venue at the time of the fight to come forward.
