Commuters face chaos this morning as a derailed freight train suspended one of the major South Eastern train routes into London.
The train is thought to have derailed just before 6am this morning with network engineers on site at 6:15am. It is believed two of the trains carriages overturned on the tracks between Hither Green and Lewisham causing several lines to close. Trains have been cancelled and there’s no service at some stations at all as a result of this.
#Lewisham Engineers continue to work to resolve the problem. Apologies if you are affected. Check @nationalrailenq for service info. pic.twitter.com/aQl6JlqD75

Absolute shambles of a ‘service’ this week so far. Long delays and re-routed trains and short terminations. #southeastern Late late late.

With Southeastern warning commuters severe disruption is “expected until the end of the day”, it is thoroughly advised all those using the affected line should check before they travel.
Southeastern have said that tickets would be accepted on buses routes and other rail, underground and tram routes in the area.
