Southern Rail guards and drivers set to strike

Southern rail guards and drivers are due to strike again tomorrow (February 22) for 24 hours from midnight affecting commuters on mainline routes into central London.

The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) announced the strike in on going disputes over the safety impact of the removal of guards from the service, making them a driver only operation.

The cancelled services are set to cause overcrowding on the London Overground routes, which run adjacent to the usual Southern line.

Passengers commuting through stations including New Cross Gate, Crystal Palace, Forest Hill, West Croydon and Sydenham are amongst those most affected by the planned strike action.

 Morning

06.21 – Eastbourne to London

07.12 – Eastbourne to London

07.32 – Brighton to London Bridge

Afternoon/ evening

16.58 – Brighton to London Bridge

17.41 – London Bridge to Littlehampton

17.57 – London Bridge to Brighton

18.23 – London Bridge to Eastbourne
