A man has died following a stabbing in Mottingham, Lewisham on Friday, February 24.

Police responded to a call at around 3.45pm reporting a disturbance on Lambscroft Avenue. Police identified a man suffering stab wounds on nearby street Charlesfield.

After receiving emergency first aid, the 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four males, aged 16, 18, 19, and 20, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They are currently being held in custody in south London police stations.

One local resident said she realised something was wrong when she heard police helicopters overhead.

“From what I can gather he was stabbed in the car park and then managed to walk across to the road which is where he died,” she told the Evening Standard.

Another stabbing took place on Grove Park Road, just yards from Charlesfield, in October. An 18-year-old male was left in critical condition, and it is unknown if any arrests have been made.

“I’ve lived here my whole life and I’d never heard of anything like this before these two stabbings,” the resident said.

Police are in the process of informing next of kin.
