Tower Hamlets FC suffered their second worst defeat of the season last night, losing 5-0 to Redbridge FC.

This is their second loss in a row in the Essex Senior League after a narrow 3-2 defeat to Southend Manor on Saturday. The result leaves them in seventh place, just one point above West Essex FC.

Redbridge team captain Eljay Warrell scored a hat-trick at Mile End Stadium to keep his team in first place with a five-point lead.

The match kicked off with Warrell placing an early free kick in the top right-hand corner of the net in the twelfth minute.

A header from Brian Moses allowed Worrell to slide the ball into the back of the net, securing a 2-0 lead for his team by half time.

The second half saw Tower Hamlets midfield struggling to get onto the other side of the pitch.

Any hope of a comeback was quickly quashed when Martin Tuohy snuck the ball around the keeper in the sixty fourth minute. Substitute Jacob Dingli followed this up with another goal less than ten minutes later.

Tower Hamlets mounted a final assault, resulting in two free kicks in the ninetieth minute but they failed to find the back of the net.

A final penalty in extra time secured Warrell his hat-trick.
