The man that killed a 19-year-old woman in Deptford has been jailed for six years for dangerous driving.
Abdul Sujac, a 22 year old and “habitual dangerous driver” hit teenager Laura Ann Keyes with his BMW in November last year.
Police were called to Creek Road at the junction with Deptford Church Street at the reports of a collision involving a pedestrian. Sujac stopped at the scene on and was arrested that day.
Southwark Crown Court found him guilty on Friday 19 October. On top of his jail time Sujac, who is from Stratford is disqualified from driving for five years.
The court were told that he would record himself driving dangerously on his phone, with over 4000 clips being recovered. On his Snapchat, after a prior conviction he wrote “nine points ain’t gonna stop me driving”.
Detective Sergeant Richard Budd, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “The evening that Laura died she had been having fun with her friends and enjoying her life before it was tragically cut short in the most cruel and sudden of circumstances.”
“Sujac’s senseless and irresponsible actions have robbed Laura’s family of a person who by all accounts was a well-loved and well-liked young woman who had the rest of her life to look forward to.
