A man has been admitted to hospital after being shot in a drive-by-moped attack on Amherst Road in Hackney.

The incident occurred on October 12 – police were called to the scene at about 9.30pm, when a young-man in his 20s was reported to have been shot. He was rushed to hospital where he was treated overnight – his injuries are reportedly not life-threatening. The identity of the man is still unknown.

There have not yet been any arrests in response to the incident.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told the Evening Standard: “At this early stage it is believed the man was shot by two people on a moped”
