Man stabbed in Brockley, three people arrested

A man, 21, has been stabbed on Cranfield Road, Brockley in Lewisham.

Police were called to the scene just before 9 pm on November 9 where they found the victim suffering from stab wounds.

Three men, ages 20, 18 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and suspicion of cannabis possession.  

They have since been released under investigation.

A knife was found nearby Langtry Court on Coulgate Street in Lewisham.

Police say the victim’s condition is stable and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The attack comes weeks after 15-year-old Jay Hughes was fatally stabbed in Bellingham, Lewisham on Thursday 1 November.

He was taken to a south London hospital but later died from the single stab wound to the heart.

A 21-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday, 21 November on suspicion of murder; she has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in mid-December.

According to the Met Police, knife crime in Lewisham has increased by 32.50% from September to October.

In September a man was charged with murder of 22-year-old Shevaun Sorrell who was stabbed in Deptford, Lewisham on 25 August. Dana Powell, 27, of Deptford, was charged on the evening of Wednesday, 5 September.
