A person who was hit by a train near Anerley station at 7am this morning was pronounced dead at the scene.

Their identity has not been released as police are working to identify the deceased and inform the family; the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

All services were disrupted between Norwood Junction and London Bridge, and Anerly and Penge West stations were not being served by Southern services.

Major disruptions are expected to continue across Southern and Thameslink rail networks until 3pm today, Thursday.
