Crystal palace are set to return to Premier League action on the weekend commencing June 19 after a meeting yesterday between all 20 teams saw a provisional restart date agreed.

The Premier League agreed to a provisional restart date of June 17, subject to final Government approval, which will see the two outstanding games from match week 29 finally completed bringing all the teams to 29 matches played before Palace and the rest of the Premier League teams return the following weekend. Palace will have all their remaining fixtures broadcast live after the Premier League agreed to make all 92 remaining games available for broadcast in the UK with Sky, BT, Amazon and the BBC set to show the remaining fixtures with at least 30 matches set to be free to air.

Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters said: “Today we have provisionally agreed to resume the Premier League on Wednesday June 17.

“But this date cannot be confirmed until we have met all the safety requirements needed as the health and welfare of all participants and supporters is our priority.”

Palace will be able to play their remaining home matches at Selhurst Park after the Premier  League reached a compromise with the Football Policing Unit which will see up to six games held at neutral venues, none of which will involve the Eagles, with the initial position being for all 92 matches to be played at neutral venues.

The announcement of a restart date yesterday followed a meeting on May 27 which gave approval for phase two of Project Restart. Palace will now be able to conduct contact training in small groups a week after they were given permission for no contact training in small groups with protocols remaining in place and unnecessary contact to be minimised.

The schedule for the remainder of Palace’s season is yet to be confirmed however it is expected that the season will pick up from where it was halted meaning Palace’s first game behind closed doors would be away to Bournemouth with the team currently sitting in 11th place just six points off a Champions League place.
