Croydon schoolgirl stabbings: Teenage boy charged

A teenage boy has been charged with two separate attacks on schoolgirls in Thornton Heath, Croydon last week.

The boy, 15, will appear in custody at Bromley Youth Court today charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm, one count of actual bodily harm and two counts of sexual assault among other charges.

A 15-year-old girl was stabbed in the leg by a stranger at 8:50 am on Wednesday, November 4 on Moffat Road, Croydon, and was later taken to hospital. Two days later, another 15- year-old girl was stabbed in the arm while walking to school on St Paul’s Road, Croydon, three miles from the first incident. Neither victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

The arrest came after the police appealed to the public for information and released CCTV footage of a man running near the scene of the second stabbing.
