As the government’s gradually lifting Covid restrictions, this summer is looking up for many of us. There are many East London events upcoming to brighten the future.

Whether you’re a music lover or a foodie, we have an East London event for you to get booked before tickets sell out in a fury of hope and expectation.

If you want to get involved in the fun but you don’t want to travel far, we can guarantee that there are festivals happening in your borough. If you’re looking for a rave or just a chardonnay in the sun, we’ve got you covered…

If you love a bit of rock, indie or alternative music, All Points East is the weekend for you. Running from 27 to 30 August, this bank holiday weekend will see you dancing the day away at Victoria Park. With this year’s headline acts including musicians and DJ’s Jamie xx and Kano, tickets are available for purchase now from £60.60.

Alternatively, if you think spices and dips are more your thing, take a trip to London Wing Fest at London Stadium. The world’s largest chicken wing festival, with around 35 stalls to visit you’ll have an entire day trip covered. At just £1 per wing, the event can suit any budget. Although most tickets are sold out for this popular event, you can still sign up for final release tickets on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July here.

Love Juice, a clubbing events company, are renowned for their Ibiza parties and you can experience a taste of this in Tower Hamlets this summer. The Love Pub and Grub event featuring DJ’s, games, cocktails and street food will kick your summer off in style. With lots of dates from May to July selling out fast be sure to get your hands on these tickets at less than £15 each.

However, if you would like to spice up your summer in a different way, Meatopia has got you covered. Featuring dozens of the world’s best live-fire chefs, the event is not only an experience but a day to feed your appetite. This food festival at Tobacco Dock also includes live music to get the best of both worlds. Taking place from September 3-5, you can purchase tickets now from £23.85.

For soul and Motown lovers, Soultown Festival will be at Croydon Road Recreation Ground on September 4. A day out for any age, this event of music, drinks and sun is one you won’t want to miss. With this year’s headliner Shalamar, a Grammy-nominated American R&B group, tickets are £51.12 for general admission or half the price for 5-18s.

Just a stone throw away from Croydon on July 24-25 at Streatham Common, Radio station Kiss FM are hosting Kisstory festival. With Old skool anthems played by signature Kiss DJ’s and live performances, this all-day event will have you dancing to your favourite club classics. Tickets are on sale now starting at £28.

To hear the newest sounds in indie music, take a trip to New Cross’ The Amersham Arms, May 1. Underground Sounds, a team of producers and sound designers are hosting the Lewisham event to showcase the newest indie artists. The event which will cost you just £9.97 per ticket will have you drinking and dancing in one of New Cross’ trendiest venues.

To end your summer with a bang at Beckenham Palace Park you can spend the day listening to a range of music at Naked City Festival on Saturday September 11. With cocktails and street food, this festival can be enjoyed by the whole family. Listen to genres including house, jazz and afro at this backyard style event at £61 per ticket.
