Police investigate Croydon death fall

A man has been pronounced dead in Croydon after falling from a building on Wellesley Road.

Police were called to the junction of Wellesley Road and Sydenham Road at 1:47pm after reports of a person falling from a height.

The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: “A man, believed to be in his late 30s, was found with injuries consistent with a fall. He was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Officers with London Ambulance Service paramedics attended the scene. The man’s death is currently being treated as “unexplained”.

Initial enquiries from the police suggest that there was no third party involvement.

Wellesley Road has since fully reopened, after being closed from Park Lane roundabout to St. Michael’s Road from approximately 2:20pm – 3:35pm.
