Police have issued an alert for a Hackney man who is wanted on recall to prison for breaching the conditions of his release.
Former bus driver Gerald Cotter, 57, from Hackney killed Kieron Fevrier, 23, while driving high on cocaine in 2016.
Cotter was driving at 50mph, almost double the 30mph speed limit when he crashed into Fevrier’s motorbike.
At the scene of the crash in Leyton, esst London, officers uncovered a knife and three stolen passports when searching Cotter’s uninsured car.
Fevrier died at the scene after sustaining serious head injuries.
Cotter, who already had a number of previous convictions for drug and driving offences, admitted to reckless driving and other offences at the Old Bailey in 2017.
He was jailed for seven years and disqualified from driving for eight and a half years.
The Metropolitan Police are appealing to the public to help in the search to locate Cotter.
The Met has warned: “Anyone spotting Cotter should not approach him but call 999 immediately.”
