A Croydon man is among three charged with murder and conspiracy to rob in connection with the death of a 22-year-old man in Bromley last Sunday (July 13).

Lance Slowley, 22, of Thornton Heath has been remanded in custody, together with Marcus El-Alfy, 18, of Bromley and Jordache Smith-Challis, 19, of West Norwood.

They will appear before Bromley Magistrates’ Court later today (Wednesday, 16 July).

Afyon Saint-Hilaire of Bromley died from stab wounds following an incident outside McDonald’s restaurant at around 8.45pm.

The 22-year-old victim is believed to have attempted to drive away after the incident in Coniston Road, but crashed and collapsed from his injuries.

Paramedics battled to save him and he was given emergency surgery at the scene but had been too severely wounded during the incident.

A post mortem examination at Princess Royal University Hospital on Monday revealed Saint-Hilaire died from shock and massive blood loss.

Friends and family have paid tribute to him on social media sites.

A team from the Metropolitan Police’s Homicide and Major Crime Command are leading the investigation.
