You can enjoy pop-up dining almost anywhere in London from the top of the old BBC Television Centre to the depths of a hot tub, but now comes something even quirkier and magnitudes more terrifying.

From 17 – 30 September, you’ll be able to enjoy a gourmet feast at St Katharine Docks while you take in in the views of Canary Wharf and Tower Bridge. How? You’ll be suspended 25 metres above the ground of course.

The London in the Sky experience consists of a single table on a platform seating up to twenty-two diners. Guests will be securely fastened into their seats before the platform takes flight and they are hoisted in to the city sky.

An impressive selection of chefs will serve signature dishes to the thrill-seeking foodies. The line-up will include Sophie Mitchell, whose celebrity clientele includes Leonardo DiCaprio and Claudia Schiffer, as well as most recently Princes William and Harry at the Tiffany and Co Royal Charity Polo Cup, held at Lord Lloyd Webber’s estate.

Also on the bill will be Martin Morales of Ceviche, Daniel Doherty of Duck and Waffle and Michelin star winners Tom Aitkens and Robert Ortiz.

If you’re not deterred by the height, keep in mind that sky-high dining doesn’t come cheap. Breakfast is priced at £50 and dinner is £200. There are also special champagne flights available, in association with Taittinger.
