Witnesses sought after bus driver arrest

Police in Croydon have made an  appeal for witnesses after a pedestrian was seriously  injured in a collision with a double-decker 194 bus in Addiscombe Road.

The Metropolitan Police say the 63-year-old bus driver was arrested on suspicion of careless driving and was in custody at a south London police station.

The incident occurred near the Sandilands tram stop at ten minutes past nine on Monday evening 2nd May. 

The injured local man, who was in his mid-60s, was taken by ambulance to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, suffering head injuries and was said to be in a serious condition.
