Lewisham on alert for missing 10-year-old in possible abduction: mother under arrest

The Lewisham police have launched an appeal for a 10-year-old schoolboy who went missing at 3:30pm on Monday. His mother has been arrested in what may be an aduction arising from a custody dispute, though the boy is still missing.

Chukwuxavier Nwoban-Akanwo was last seen after his 18-year-old sister picked him up from school, Tidemill Academy on Giffin Street. His sister has been located.

In a recent court ruling, Chukwuxavier’s custody was given to his father. The missing boy’s 48-year-old mother has been arrested on suspicion of abduction since his disappearance.
Chukwuxavier is approximately 5ft 4 – 5ft 7 inches tall, of medium build with short black afro-hair with a single plaited ponytail at the back of his head. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jumper and black trousers.
