Black Mirror has come to Croydon to film the 5th season of the much-loved sci-fi Netflix series, sparking excitement among locals as familiar shops acquired 80s facades.
Pictures of the set quickly began to spread online after Croydon residents received a letter announcing the arrival of the Emmy-award winning show last week.
The series began filming along St George’s Walk on Wednesday and finished on Saturday April 28.
The windows were sealed with black paper and manned by security as filming commenced.
A retro-styled WHSmith decked out with books and music from the era remains the focus of the set along with a FADS DIY shop and clothes store Chelsea Girl – now known as River Island after its rebranding in 1991.
