A murder investigation has been launched after a 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in Sydenham. 

Police were called to Hazel Grove at 19:19 on April 10, 2021 after there were numerous reports of a man lying on the ground. 

Emergency services were called to the scene, with medics from the London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance both present. 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 20:00. 

The victim’s next of kin have since been informed. 

A crime scene has been put in place, alongside a heightened police presence around the area with delays expected locally. 

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to call 101, providing the reference CAD6072/10APR.
