“It’s so empowering”: Lewisham menopause boxing club helps women fight for visibility – video

Women in Lewisham have started a boxing class and community club that is “punching through the menopause.”

Menobox, which started last month, provides a community space for women over 40 who feel there is no dedicated space where they can comfortably exercise and spend time with like-minded people.

Caroline Leek started the classes after she began 1-1 boxing classes to prepare herself for menopause.

When she realised how much she benefited from the classes, she wanted to share them with as many others as possible.

Now, every Wednesday, the classes fill up at Goldsmiths Community Centre, where ladies can exercise in an environment they feel relaxed in, while also being pushed to their limits.
