Man charged with murder after fatal stabbing in Hackney Wick

A 35-year-old man was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon following a fatal stabbing in Hackney Wick on Saturday February 11 and appeared in court on Tuesday February 14.

Christopher Appiah-Blay, from Wick Road in Hackney, was arrested by the Met Police following an investigation into the stabbing incident that caused one death and one stab injury. 

He has been kept in custody since then and appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court.

Appiah-Blay is suspected to have stabbed two men near a nightclub called Colour Factory, at Queen’s Yard, Hackney, at around 4:30am last Saturday.  

Both victims were sent to an East London hospital where one of the victims, Trei Daley, 26, was later declared dead. 

The other unnamed 24-year-old victim was discharged from the hospital on the same day. 

An autopsy of Daley will take place at a later date.
