A murder inquiry has been launched after a 26-year-old man, named Trei Daley, died after a double stabbing in Hackney Wick in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Daley, from Bromley, died later from his injuries in hospital.
The police were called to the scene near to the Colour Factory nightclub in Queen’s Yard, just off White Post Lane. Officers have established Daley was stabbed at around 4.30am. There have been no arrests so far.
The second victim, 24, who has not been named, is said by police to have been discharged from hospital since the attack.
Detective Chief Inspector Jim Eastwood said in a statement: “Firstly, I want to express my most sincere sympathies to Trei’s family. They are being supported by specialist officers, and a dedicated team of detectives will be doing everything possible to bring to justice whoever was responsible for this tragic killing.”
This reflects a recent ONS report where police recorded ‘possession of article with a blade or point’ offences were 9% higher in the year ending June 2022 (25,287) than the year ending March 2020 (23,242). This was a 13% increase compared to the year ending 2021 (22,340).
