Crystal Palace have reported that all 33,000 tickets allocated to the club for their Wembley play-off final against Watford to secure a place in the Premiership next season have been sold out.
They had only been available online since Tuesday this week. From 9 a.m. this morning only 8,500 seats were available to club members as well as season ticket holders and they were quickly snapped up in less than an hour.
The club advises people travelling to the stadium by car can make parking arrangements by calling 0208 900 2405.
Fans wishing to travel to the game by coach can also contact the club to book a place on a service departing from Selhurst Park at 11.30am at £12 per person. For more details on the coach facility and road routes visit Palace’s official website.
The match referee appointed is Martin Atkinson, 42, from Yorkshire and has taken charge of three Championship matches this season, giving out a total of seven yellow cards. Most of his refereeing this season as been in the Premier.
He last took charge of a Crystal Palace fixture since March 2011, when the Eagles lost 2-1 to QPR at Loftus Road.
Ahead of the match Palace Chairman Steve Parish, has been discussing the key to the successful turn-around of the club since fears of relegation to lower leagues and administration.
In addition to the success of managers and players he believes the spirit of the co-owners in the boardroom has made a major difference: “Togetherness in boardroom filters down throughout the club. We’ve got this one common love that’s the football club. Everything we talk about and everything we do is driven by that one love. That makes dealing with each other easy.”
“There are no egos. Everything is about what is best for the club,” he told the Eagles’ website.
Star striker, Wilfried Zaha, already sold to Manchester United for £15 million, has recalled how excited he was to have his debut with Crystal Palace- “so happy to show what I could do” at a time when the future of the club was in doubt. He said he was delighted to have been able to be on loan since January to help the Eagles’ push for promotion.
Bloody fuming mad that the general public many that pay to watch palace regularly have not been given the chance to buy tickets.I’ve been to most home games this season yet greedy season ticket holders have got all the tickets. Now the only chance i have of getting tickets is to be thoroughly ripped off,how these sites have tickets in the palace end is a mystery?
I totally agree Gerald Cooper, I think it is disgusting that the general public and some true palace fans have not had the chance to purchase any tickets whatsoever!!!!! Just because we don’t have a season ticket doesn’t make us less of a supporter!!!
Fans with purchasing history get no chance to buy a playoff ticket! This can’t be right. i feel particularly miffed when looking back at the money wasted on the 0-4 home game to Portsmouth.
I have supported palace for 44 years and watched hundreds of games. Not a season ticket holder as now live in Dorset but do have on line history. Club feels it has been a success with STH allowing a second bite of the cherry and base success on sell out ! I wonder if any STH bought their allocation and then a couple of extra tickets to cover the cost of the first two ? Hundreds of tickets available for palace seats online. Can gat them for 150- 200 pounds a t several websites time so counts me out ! Stinks
If you have been to most of the home maybe you should have bought a season ticket like all the other loyal fans. Speaking if whom. Why should non season tickets holders get final tickets. It’s only fair that people that have paid upfront for their seat gets a two tickets. One for them and one for a fellow palace mate of son or wife. Seeing that they are the ones that secure the future of the club paying in advance. It’s their money that buy players and secure a wage structure. All the money from match day ticket sales goes into to paying back room staff and electricity costs etc.
I dont know how the Tickets are allocated, But, If they allocate to those ticket holders who have been the longest with the team as a Season ticket holder, then, I don’t mind those people going on behalf of the rest of us. I disagree, that every Palace fan is SAME. Certainly, loyalty in terms of being a season ticket holder for many years consecutively, should have its advantages. And Fair enough, if those people get this wonderful opportunity. Peace.
Completely agree with Phil. I’ve been a season ticket holder for 20 odd years and can remember our first two play off finals when we had to queue around the ground for five or six hours for tickets. I bought my allocated two tickets one for me and one for my son. Perhaps instead of moaning those people that have missed out should have parted with a miserly twenty quid for a season long club membership. Also in reply to “Gafacake” it shows what sort of a die hard Palace fan he is we weren’t even in the same division as Portsmouth and we lost 4-0 at home to Birmingham!
