LEWISHAM
The exhibition “Yesterday is Now History” opens on June 18 at the Road Gallery. Curated by artist Eleanor Davies and anthropologist/historian Sophie Parker, the exhibition explores the history of Lewisham through everyday objects. The project follows Lewisham from the days of the foreign cattle market to the ongoing protests to save Lewisham’s hospital.
“Yesterday is Now History” will be open from Thursdays to Mondays from June 18- at 310 New Cross Road, New Cross SE14 6AF.

Lewisham Arthouse hosts a Pop-up Café for the next six weeks. The space will welcome a different guest chef every week guaranteeing a varied and multi-ethnic menu. Guests can also enjoy family friendly craft activities. Live music ranges from musician Charles Hayward & Friends to Rachael House’s Feminist Disco.
Open from Mondays to Saturdays from 9am-6pm (open late til 9pm on Thursdays and Fridays).
CROYDON
Croydon Green Fair happens this June 14. From 10 am to 4pm, North End will be filled with stalls from green associations like Croydon Beekeepers and Croydon Friends of the Earth. Founder Andrew Dickinson launched the event to raise environmental awareness in the borough.
A new production of Dylan Thomas’ play Under Milk Wood will open on June 16 at the Fairfield Halls. This new production, directed by Terry Hands, marks the centenary of Dylan’s birth and the 60th anniversary of the play’s British première. Click here for more information
HACKNEY
Haggerston Park hosts Found Festival this Saturday. Damian Lazarus, Cassy and DJ Sneak are just some of the artists included in this electronic music festival. Gates will be open from 11am.
As a part of the Adult Learners Week 2014, St. Augustine Tower (located behind 354 Mare Street) hosts “Talks at the Tower” from June 15. This year’s event will explore the history of Hackney with pictures exhibitions and guest speakers telling their favourite tales of the borough.

TOWER HAMLETS
The East End Film Festival starts this Friday, June 13. For its 13th edition, the festival has organised an opening gala night with the world premiere of Dermaphoria, the debut film of East End filmmaker Ross Clarke. The Festival goes on until June 25.
