Seventy arrests have been made in Hackney as part of a London-wide crackdown on licensing breaches, anti-social behaviour and drug offences. Operation Condor was launched on Friday, mobilizing 247 Hackney and Metropolitan police officers across the borough. Arrests were made for offences including drug possession, taxi touting, pickpocketing, fighting, and persistent begging.
Five men have been treated for gunshot wounds, believed to have been sustained during a shooting in Homerton, Hackney.

Emma West, the woman charged with a racially aggravated public offence order following an alleged tram rant, appeared at Croydon Magistrates Court this morning. West, who was captured on a video then viewed by over 11 million on YouTube, was granted unconditional bail until her case is heard at Crown Court on February 17.
